I am a writer, script consultant, and former literary manager who has helped clients sell projects to Netflix, Lionsgate, ABC, Disney, Tubi, Max, Hallmark, Sony, Lifetime, and more.

Every month, I read dozens of scripts from amateur and professional writers. I have given thousands of hours of notes calls, resulting in writers winning competitions, finding representation, being accepted into competitive fellowships, getting staffed on TV shows, and being hired to write feature films for major studios. It all starts with a sample script that can open these doors for you.I have 14 years of industry experience, and I know what a script needs to sell. With my help, you will have a working first draft by the end of eight weeks.

Your professional screenwriting career starts with a great script.

A great script starts as a first draft. But getting from a blank page to FADE TO BLACK is the hardest part.99% of aspiring screenwriters don't make it past this point.I have seen professional screenwriters struggle for years (even decades!) to write their next original piece. And none of your dreams will come true until you complete this step.

Too many writers force themselves to miserably grind through the process until they finish.

You might have heard the saying, "I hate writing. I love having written."This is not sustainable.Your approach to writing should be intentional and (dare I say it!) fun.If you're not having fun, you will burn out. You will be unhappy. And you will watch jealously as other creatives achieve the success you are struggling towards. You will be disappointed, reading announcement after announcement about screenwriters who succeed, thinking to yourself, "That should have been me!"If only you had written that brilliant idea that was in your head. But it doesn't have to be this way.You can have your most productive writing year ever. And you can have fun doing it.All while you build a real network of mentors and industry insiders who support you.

The Solution

Fun comes from confidence.Confidence comes from competence.Knowing what you're doing comes from learning tools that resonate and then applying them to your writing practice. It comes from celebrating not just at the end, but while you are on the journey.

The Transformation

Start as someone who aspires to be a professional screenwriter but is:- Overwhelmed by how far it is before you get there.- Intimidated by the level of mastery exhibited by the working professionals of today.- Plagued by procrastination, unable to sit down and make progress on a script.

By the end of eight weeks, you will be someone who:

- Thinks like a professional screenwriter.- Writes on a daily basis and loves doing it.- Networks like a real Hollywood insider.- Has finished the hardest part of the process: Your screenplay.

I'm Audrey Knox, a writer, script consultant, and former literary manager. I have spent years helping writers level up their drafts in tangible ways that lead to professional quality material. This has led to my writers getting hired on shows including P-Valley, Ginny & Georgia, grown-ish, The Upshaws, Single Drunk Female, Reasonable Doubt, Sweet Magnolias, and more.During my ten years in literary management, I represented the writers of Alice, Darling (Lionsgate), Hot Frosty (Netflix), the Single Black Female franchise (Lifetime), Crushed (Tubi), The Santa Summit (Hallmark), and more. I worked with writers on their feature samples, resulting in writing jobs for studios including Wayfarer (It Ends with Us), DreamWorks, Disney, and Mar Vista.

Who is this for?

Are you:- A brand-new screenwriter who wants to write your first feature length film, but you don't know where to start?- A writer who has started many scripts but has never been able to get to the end of one?- Someone who keeps writing and finishing screenplays, but none of them are good enough to break in?- A working professional screenwriter who has stalled out and needs a push to write a new sample?

No matter where you are, the answer to your struggles is writing your next best script. And that script starts with a first draft.

"Audrey's an integral part of my creative process, and possesses two rare qualities- impeccable taste, and a deep understanding of the TV and Film marketplace. Her guidance at critical moments have elevated my work, and helped my stories resonate with buyers. Scripts Audrey helped me hone consistently receive enthusiastic responses from Producers. Equally important, she's helped me focus on properties that can sell, and spared me from years of writing and re-writing projects that aren't right for the marketplace. Audrey's my creative comrade, and I guess she's yours now too!"

- Zen Freese (Staff Writer, How We Roll)

"Audrey is phenomenal to work with: full of great advice, provides actionable feedback, and is a brainstorming machine. Not to mention concise and honest without ever talking down. She truly knows story inside and out. The side effect to all this is her guidance can be rather addictive. Highly recommend!"

- Lisa Garvey

"If you want someone to take your money and give you a pat on the back, go elsewhere. Audrey offers a professional, no-bullshit approach to notes that get to the heart of the revision process and offer an individualized roadmap to not sucking. Working with her will change your writing for the better."

- Claire Utely

"Our script consultation provided challenging information that I’ve wasted a lot of money desperately searching for. Audrey is amazing."

- Braxton Joy

For the past year, I asked screenwriters to tell me the biggest struggles you face as you try to break into Film and TV.

This what you have said:

- I don't have access to industry professionals.- No one will respond to my queries.- I don't know if my writing is "good enough."- I have so many ideas, but I can't make myself commit to one.- I don't know which idea will help my career the most.- I don't have enough time to write.- I am overwhelmed by how much there is to learn.- I am discouraged by how long it will take to become great.- I don't know if I have what it takes.- What's the point? I don't know what to do with a finished script.- I can't find someone willing to read my material.- I start writing my script, only to realize that I hate it.- I keep getting stuck in Act Two.- I keep finding reasons to put off writing because it feels like a chore.- I'm struggling to find my creative voice again after taking time off.- I don't receive any support from the people in my life.- I'm embarrassed to call myself a "real" screenwriter.

These are the results of 3 problems:

Problem #1: Information OverloadThere are hundreds of books, courses, and universities dedicated to studying screenwriting.Trust me, I know. I have spent upwards of $40k over the course of my career pursuing a writing education.I don't regret it.Many clients have complimented my "innate" understanding of story structure and my "natural instincts" for knowing what to do to improve a script. But I wasn't born with this knowledge. I earned it through over a decade of experience and practice. And I know not everyone has the time (or money) to spend going down that same path.So I've put together a curriculum that walks you through the basics you need to know to have the confidence to take your movie idea from inspiration all the way to its final form.Without guidance, you will get overwhelmed.Screenwriter Brunch Club narrows your focus on specific structural ideas each week, applied to the part of your script that everyone is working on together.By distilling the process down to one bite at a time, you can fully absorb what you learn.

Problem #2: Lack of Industry Information
Writing into the void is discouraging. How can you find the motivation to keep going if no one is ever going to read this?Sure, there are plenty of paid "pitch opportunities" and websites that will let you purchase coverage, but do those actually result in real relationships? With weekly experts talking about the current state of the industry, you will receive guidance on how your writing fits into the overall market. And instead of charging writers for the "opportunity" to pitch to these experts, I will empower you with tools to build your own network organically. This skill will benefit your career long after the quarter ends.

Problem #3: Surrounding yourself with fellow amateurs.
Writers need community. But seeking support from strangers on the internet will result in surrounding yourself with misinformation, discouragement, bad advice, and despair. You will never generate opportunities for yourself if the only writers you know are also outsiders.A carefully curated community of supportive insiders dedicated to leveling up their craft, on the other hand, will give you the encouragement and tools that you need to transition from aspiring to professional. This includes writing tools and networking tools. You need both to break through.

Benefits Unlocked

After 8 weeks, you will walk away with:- A completed draft of your feature length screenplay.- Dozens of mindset tools that will make you immune to writers' block.- Story structure tools that will break open the matrix of feature films and allow you to understand how screenplays work.- 16 in-depth examples of scripts + feature films and their breakdowns.- A syllabus of recommended reading to take your practice to the next level.- A writers' group for support, encouragement, and constructive feedback.- Tangible suggestions on how to best position yourself in the current marketplace.- A toolbox of networking strategies that will transform you into a Hollywood Insider (even if you don't live in Los Angeles!)- Lifelong friendships with fellow writers and industry professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I write a TV pilot for the class? This eight-week course is designed to get you to finish the first draft of a feature film.Feature writing and TV writing are two very different art forms.I recommend NOT using this class to write a TV pilot. If you've only ever done TV writing and have never written a movie before, this is a great opportunity to dip your toe into the feature space. Having some variety in your portfolio will open you up to even more opportunities and potential screenwriting jobs. This class will help you approach the seemingly intimidating process of writing a full-length feature film. You might be surprised to find that even though movies are longer than pilot scripts, they are simpler to structure because you only have to write the beginning, middle, and end (as opposed to setting up the engine for an ongoing series while balancing telling a self-contained story in a tighter container). If you are ONLY interested in TV writing, keep an eye on your Inbox. In the future, I WILL announce a class for writing your pilot script.

Can I use the class to rewrite a script I’m already working on?My goal is to empower you to make the best choices for your process and for your screenwriting career. If you want to use this class to do a page-one rewrite of a script, I won't stop you. However, I do think you will get the most out of it if you bring a brand-new idea to work through over the next eight weeks. Why?Because too many screenwriters spend too much time tinkering with one project. You will learn more, level up your skills, and expand your portfolio if you challenge yourself to add a new project to your arsenal. If you are ONLY interested in rewriting a completed script, keep an eye on your inbox!I WILL announce a class for rewriting a feature script later this year.

Can I purchase access just ONE quarter instead of the full year?Yes!When you sign up, you will be charged $240 for access to the "Write your script!" class. At the end of the 3-month enrollment period, you will be automatically charged $200 for renewal. This will ensure uninterrupted access to all the course materials, the community, and your Q2 class ("Finish your script!")But you can cancel at any time.Just go to your Profile on the Circle website, click Billing, and cancel your membership. This will ensure that you are NOT charged for renewal at the end of the quarter. But you will still retain full access to the live classes, community, and course materials until the end of the billing period.

Is this course primarily for new writers or writers with more screenwriting experience? This course is designed to help you write a full-length feature script in eight weeks.I will give you guidance, support, and accountability throughout the entire process, which is invaluable if you have never written a feature script before. But it's also great for experienced writers looking to level up their understanding of the craft, make more connections with writers and industry professionals, or get motivated to write something again after a too-long dry spell from new material. No matter what level you're at, how many scripts you've written, or how long you've been doing this, Screenwriter Brunch Club will have resources that will help take your professional screenwriting career to the next level.

I have no idea how to actually write a script, but I have ideas. Do I need special script writing software? Do you go over that in the course?Yes!If you're serious about screenwriting, I strongly recommend downloading and using the industry standard software Final Draft. But if you're just dipping your toe into this kind of writing and aren't sure whether you will commit to it long-term, you can download the software Celtx for free.I will include a primer on screenwriting basics in the course material.

I can’t make the class time. Will other times be offered in the future?I chose Saturday mornings to host the class so that Screenwriter Brunch Club will be open to all writers, even people who have day jobs.In the future, I want to host more live classes, but I don't have the capacity to do so yet.As of right now, there are no immediate plans to change the class time. However, every lesson and guest speaker WILL be recorded. As soon as the class ends and the recording has finished rendering, it will be uploaded to the course page so anyone who missed the class can have access to everything that was discussed. That way, even if you can't attend one or more of the live classes, you can still get the full benefits of everything the course has to offer.

I can’t make one or more of the live classes. Will they be recorded?Yes!if you can't make these live classes, every lesson and guest speaker WILL be recorded. As soon as the class ends and the recording has finished rendering, it will be uploaded to the course page so anyone who missed the class can have access to everything that was discussed. That way, even if you can't attend one or more of the live classes, you can still get the full benefits of everything the course has to offer.

Can I enroll from the UK?Yes!We already have at least one member who will be participating from London. If the time zone difference makes it too difficult to attend the live classes, every lesson and guest speaker WILL be recorded. As soon as the class ends and the recording has finished rendering, it will be uploaded to the course page so anyone who missed the class can have access to everything that was discussed. That way, even if you can't attend one or more of the live classes, you can still get the full benefits of everything the course has to offer.

I live in Australia. Can I sell my script to the US?Yes!There is so much international crossover these days. Writers in different countries can make connections and deals with Hollywood producers. But I want to be very clear: This course is not about paying for access to executives.I want there to be a strong networking component to all of this. That includes teaching students how to follow up with guest speakers in a way that will spark genuine connection. I also want to offer online and in-person networking events. But I'm not a website that lets you "pay to pitch."In order to succeed in this industry, you need to be in it for the long haul. You won't get an immediate result from the first conversation you have with someone, and I am not promising instant Hollywood success. But you will benefit from this course if you are ready to roll up your sleeves and play the long game in terms of building your skills and network. No matter where you are in the world.

I’d like to write Hallmark type scripts for rom-coms and mysteries. Will I be able to get the contacts I need to have my script looked at?Yes!I have tons of experience in the Hallmark/Lifetime/Netflix/Tubi MOW space. At least two of our guest speakers have experience with these types of films.I can absolutely help you write your Hallmark rom-com and build your network in this part of the industry. But you will benefit from this course if you are ready to roll up your sleeves and play the long game in terms of building your skills and network.I already have a few students enrolled who are planning on using the course to write a Hallmark romance. So if you sign up to write this kind of movie, you're going to be in great company!
